Described by The Daily Mail as “the world’s most perceptive travel writer,” Theroux is the award-winning author of many works of fiction and nonfiction, including the travelogue The Great Railway Bazaar (1975) and the adventure novel The Mosquito Coast (1981). His many honors include the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters Award, the Whitbread Prize, and the James Tait Black Award.
